Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah

Guess what, guess what.. I got a new phone. *Nyeh nyeh nyeh nyeh nyeh* Hehe.. No, it's not a Communicator. Not an SE P900 either. It's just the SE T630 that I had been eyeing on since it got launched. ;)

So what, right? I'm not very much a gadget person, really. I don't keep myself updated with all the latest phones, or even collect them. I know of a person who has had soooo many phones of various brands and models, that he can actually open a 'Mobile Phone Museum'.

My previous phone was the Nokia 8250, the one with the butterfly looking keypad. I remember surfing through the Nokia website and immediately fell in love with the 8250 model. Or maybe, I just fell in love with the Mysterious Blue coloured cover. Hehe.. That was in Feb 2001 and I had only been in the workforce for a couple of months. I drove home after work and coaxed Mum to accompany me to the nearest Nokia Professional Centre, which was in Bangsar Baru. I left the centre disappointed when the guy said it wasn't out yet, but that it would be launched in about a week's time. Few days later, the guy called and told me that it was out already. I headed to the centre right after work with Mum. I loved it! In an instance, I walked to the nearest ATM machine, took out RM 1.6k (yeah, full cash!), walked back to the centre and bought the silver model. I remember clutching the bag so tightly as if someone's gonna steal it from me as I left the centre, and was beaming the whole night! Ok.. Make that the whole week. Hehe.. It was definitely worth parting my hard-earned cash for it!

3+ years now, new models were launched, new features were introduced. My phone was considered dinosaur age already, and probably worth RM 100 for secondhand value now (IF I'm lucky!). As much as I would love to use it for the entire lifetime, it has been slowly giving way. It still looks very good condition, except that the LCD screen is not working anymore. Could hardly see the screen, what's more to see SMS, see contact numbers or appointments. Repairing the screen would cost as much as buying a brand new, lower end phone. And I got tired or knocking the phone or pressing on the screen with as much of strength as I could give.

So when the SE T630 (Liquid Black limited edition) came out, it took me months to convince myself that this will be exactly whe I need, that it would feel like how the 8250 was to me 3+ years ago, and going to various shops to hold the phone and play with it. Part of me was battling with not willing to part my $ unnecessarily, and the other part was being very sentimental towards the 8250. *Sighz*

In the ended, I decided to go to Dr. Mobile Clinic in Mid Valley. Few days ago, they said there were 2-3 more sets. But when I got there, they were sold and since it's the limited edition, it's not to be produced again. *Sniff* Then the guy said that he would try to call up all the branches in PJ/KL, but that most are all sold out. Got a bit of hope. Hehe.. So he made the calls, and all were sold out in all branches EXCEPT for ONE set in KLCC. *Smile* But I could only get it tomorrow, and I wasnted to pay there and then by card for some rewards promotions. *Sad* Then he said, "Ok, I go over to KLCC now. Give me 1-2 hours". 1 and a half hours later, the last set of SE T630 was in my hands!! Yippppieeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! Wah.. TFT colour screen.. Camera.. Polyphonic tones.. I love it, I love it!

While I'm blogging here, I'm downloading softwares, games, ringtones, screensavers, themes.. Anything that I can download for the T630. I'm gonna fully customize it. Well, I'm off to experiment the phone now. Till the next entry, buh-bwaiii...

Car Accidents

Sis got into an accident this afternoon. She was crossing over the street with some other colleagues in front of her office. She saw there were no cars on the usually busy street. 2-3 steps away upon reaching the pavement, a car came from nowhere, sped, saw them, couldn't brake in time, and knocked her on her left hip. She flew and fell onto the pavement. The lady driver stopped her car, wound down the window and asked if she was ok. Then she drove off.

Sis laid on the ground for a moment, then slowly got up. Thank God she didn't hit her head. Just a couple of grazes over at her chin and her left elbow. The muscles on her left body were strained though. She could hardly lift up her left arm and she had to limp a bit. Got her x-rayed, and luckily no broken bones, blood clot or memory lapse. She just needs to undergo one or two physiotherapy sessions.

Really thank goodness the injury wasn't very serious. 1 minute too late, she would have hit her head and I don't know what would have happened. It just made me realize how fragile one's life is. 1 minute, one is all geared up with ambitions and all. The next minute, something terrible happens, and he/she's gone just like that.

No doubt that we have conflicts every now and then, I wouldn't want to ever imagine how will I live without her in my life.. My one and only sister. Thank you, Lord, for keeping Sis safe..
